Girl Brain features observational, situational and sensational humour from the hearts and minds of three fine Albertan ladies! Written, directed and performed by Alyson Dicey, Ellie Heath and Caley Suliak, their shows explore the finest and goriest bits of a Girl’s Brain, through sketch comedy.
They played to sold out shows in 2018 and 2019 at Grindstone Theatre and the Citadel Theatre, and have since become a fixture of the Roxy Performance Series at Theatre Network. They’ve appeared at the Edmonton Fringe, Grindstone Comedy Fest, Rapid Fire's Improvaganza, Toronto Sketchfest, Philly Sketchfest, and Central Florida Sketchfest. Carolyn Taylor (Baroness Von Sketch) performed with them at their Grindstone January 2019 show.
Girl Brain has made the front page of popular arts and culture publications throughout Edmonton. VUE Weekly nominated them for "Best Comedy Show in Edmonton". They’ve appeared on Edmonton AM (CBC Radio) and CTV National News. Their filmed sketches "Herpes" and "Quarantinis" were both nominated for AMPIAs.
“All our shows are scary, kind of spooky in a way,” Dicey laughs, “because we’re always talking about the things that annoy us, things in life that are scary…. Yup, everyday horror.”
